- Johnson Model: The Johnson Model is a direct intervention approach, developed by Vernon Johnson in the 1960s, in which a family prepares as a group and presents its concerns to a loved one in a structured meeting.
- Invitational Model: The Invitational Model is a non-confrontational intervention approach in which the loved one is invited to take part in the conversation from the start, rather than confronted by surprise.
- Recovery mentoring: Recovery mentoring is ongoing, one-to-one support that helps a person stay connected to recovery after an initial step such as treatment or an intervention.
