First Light Recovery provides a unique residential mental health program designed for adults experiencing emotional difficulties, with or without co-occurring substance abuse issues. Located in the scenic “Pier Bowl” section of San Clemente, First Light serves a maximum of six adults, offering an intimate and supportive community environment. The program focuses on helping clients develop independent living skills and socialization necessary for successful community living. Additionally, First Light offers a comprehensive clinical program to assist clients in coping with internal psychological challenges that interfere with independent living.
Treatment Philosophy
Upon entering the residential program, each client is assigned a primary therapist, also known as a Case Manager. Together, they assess the client’s strengths, identify areas for improvement, and establish short- and long-term goals. An individualized treatment plan is created and reviewed weekly throughout the course of treatment. Living in a community with others facing similar challenges fosters a strong sense of connection and inspiration. Residents learn cooperation, social tolerance, and empathy, shifting from self-centered behaviors to selfless acts of support for others. This therapeutic community environment encourages a transformation toward wellness and independence.
