Polaris Teen Center provides a high-quality residential treatment program for adolescents ages 13 to 17, specializing in mental health disorders that impair daily functioning and lead to destructive consequences. Located on a two-acre estate in the Tarzana area of Los Angeles, Polaris Teen Center offers a small, intimate setting, housing a maximum of 12 adolescents at a time. This allows the center to provide personalized and customized care for each client. Polaris is dedicated to helping teens and their families replace feelings of hopelessness and self-destructive behaviors with renewed confidence, optimism, and a plan for a healthier future.
Program Overview
Polaris Teen Center provides a wide range of therapeutic modalities to address complex psychological, biological, and familial challenges. Clients receive three or more individual sessions per week with a licensed clinician, while families are involved in two family therapy sessions per week, either in person or over the phone. The center also offers daily group therapy sessions, covering topics such as healthy relationships, body image, and life stories. Additionally, Polaris integrates experiential therapies like art, music, and equine therapy, as well as trauma-focused treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Patients also see a board-certified adolescent psychiatrist for assessments and medication management as needed. A credentialed teacher leads daily school sessions, ensuring that academic needs are also met.
