FOR CLINICIANS
I work with the family around a planned, prepared conversation with a person who is struggling, and coordinate treatment placement so a yes can be acted on immediately. Referrals from clinicians are welcome. I do not diagnose, do not deliver clinical treatment, and do not take referral fees.

Common referral signals
The client is not attending, or is attending without engaging. The family is destabilising the work faster than sessions can repair it. Someone needs a structured, prepared conversation that falls outside your scope. Placement is needed quickly and the family cannot navigate it alone. Or the family, rather than the client, is the group that needs the intervention.
If any of those describe what you are seeing, an intervention referral may fit. Call and describe the situation, and I will tell you honestly whether it is the right approach or whether something else would serve better.

What I actually do
I assess the situation with the family. I decide with them who should be in the room. I prepare and rehearse everyone beforehand. I lead the conversation. I coordinate admission with the treatment provider. The meeting is the shortest part. Preparation is where most of the work sits.
I do not diagnose. I do not deliver clinical treatment. I do not operate a treatment facility, and I do not take referral fees from the centres I place people into. That last point matters for referral partners, because a financial relationship between an interventionist and a treatment centre can influence where a client is sent.

The two models
I use the Johnson Model and the Invitational Model. One is more direct. The other invites the person in from the start.
Which one fits depends on the family and the person, not on a fixed preference. That is decided during planning, alongside the referring clinician where that is useful.

Matched to your family
I work in both the Johnson Model and the Invitational Model, and recommend the one that actually fits your family’s situation.
How I work with you
The exact referral workflow, including what is shared back and with what consent, is being finalised for publication and I would rather describe it correctly on a call than approximate it here. In practice, I hold the boundary that you are the client’s clinician and I am a discrete engagement around a specific conversation and placement.
Call me first to describe the situation. I will tell you whether an intervention is what the case needs, or whether something else fits better.
If someone you love is in immediate danger, call 911. If they are talking about not wanting to be here, call or text 988. Los Angeles County residents can reach the Department of Mental Health ACCESS line on 800-854-7771.

Frequently Asked
No. I do not operate a treatment facility and I do not take referral fees.
No. My work is a discrete engagement around a specific conversation and placement.
Call me and describe the situation. I will tell you honestly if I think something else fits better.
Yes. I travel where that is the right approach and coordinate remotely where it is not.
That depends on urgency and availability. Say on the first call if it is time sensitive.
