Intervention Services in Malibu
Professional intervention services for Malibu families.
The short answer
Lifestyle Interventions offers professional intervention services to families in Malibu. Based in Los Angeles, we help you plan a structured conversation with a struggling loved one, choose an approach that fits, and coordinate the next step. We are an independent advisory service, not a treatment facility.
What we do
What is an interventionist?
Definition
An interventionist is a trained professional who helps a family plan and hold a structured conversation with a loved one who is struggling, and helps map the next step toward support.
For Malibu families, that includes coordinating the next step with licensed providers, even when family members are spread across different places.

Who we serve
Helping Malibu families take the first step
Reaching out for a loved one takes courage. We help Malibu families turn worry into a clear, prepared plan.
Our role is to bring structure and calm to a conversation that can feel impossible to start alone.
Confidentiality
Planning and coordinating the next step
Privacy is central to how we work. We understand that visibility and reputation can weigh on a family's decision to seek help.
Every conversation with us is confidential, and we plan each step with your family's privacy in mind.
The process
Two approaches, matched to your family
We use the Johnson Model and the Invitational Model. One is more direct, the other invites the person in from the start.
We help you choose the approach most likely to keep the door to help open.

Based in Los Angeles, serving Malibu
We are a Los Angeles-based service and support families across the area, including Malibu.
Lifestyle Interventions is a Los Angeles intervention and recovery advisory service founded by Chris Howard.
We do not operate a treatment facility, and we do not take referral fees. Malibu families are not always in one place — members may live across the city, the state, or the country. We help coordinate everyone into a single, calm plan, so distance does not become another obstacle.
Who we help
Who we help
We work with families facing substance use, alcohol concerns, and mental health struggles, among other situations.
The right approach depends on the person and the family, not on a single template.

What to expect What to Expect When You CallThe first call is a confidential conversation. There is no obligation, no pressure, and no enrollment process at the start. For families, we will ask about the situation, the person, the history, and what has been tried. By the end of the call, you will have a clear sense of whether our work is the right fit and what the alternatives are if it is not. For clinicians, we will ask about the patient, the family system, and the clinical context. We will tell you honestly whether an intervention is what the situation needs, or whether something else is more appropriate.
