Interventionist Services in Georgia

Professional intervention services for Georgia families, wherever you’re located.

CONFIDENTIAL

The short answer

I provide intervention services for families throughout Georgia, including Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, and Macon. Based in Los Angeles, I’ll either fly out for the intervention itself or coordinate closely with a trusted local team, depending on what actually fits your family’s timeline.

What We Do

What is an interventionist?

Definition

An interventionist is a trained professional who helps a family plan and hold a structured conversation with a loved one who is struggling, and helps map the next step toward support.

For families in Georgia, that starts with a straightforward conversation about whether I travel to you or work with someone local for the in-person parts. Either way, I stay involved through treatment placement and beyond.

Who We Serve

Helping families outside Los Angeles take the first step

Los Angeles is where I’m based, but plenty of the families I talk to are calling from somewhere else entirely. A family in Georgia gets the same first conversation as a family in my own city: what’s happening, who’s involved, and how your loved one is likely to react when approached.

I’ll be direct with you about whether flying out to Georgia makes sense given your timeline, or whether working with local support remotely gets your family help faster. There’s no default answer here, it depends on what’s actually going on.

Confidentiality

Planning with your privacy in mind

Privacy is central to how I work, regardless of distance. I understand that visibility and reputation can weigh on a family’s decision to seek help.

Every conversation with me is confidential, and I plan each step, including travel logistics if that’s the right approach, with your family’s privacy in mind.

The Process

Two approaches, matched to your family

I use the Johnson Model and the Invitational Model. One is more direct, the other invites the person in from the start.

I’ll help you choose the approach most likely to keep the door to help open, wherever your family is located.

Reach

Based in Los Angeles, serving families across Georgia

I’m based in Los Angeles and work with families across Georgia, including Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, and Macon.

Lifestyle Interventions is the Los Angeles intervention and recovery advisory practice I founded. I don’t operate a treatment facility, and I don’t take referral fees.

Families rarely fit neatly into one city or state, and I don’t expect yours to either. I build one coordinated plan around wherever everyone actually is, so location doesn’t slow things down.

Who I Help

Who I help

I work with families facing substance use, alcohol concerns, and mental health struggles, among other situations.

The right approach depends on the person and the family, not on a single template, and not on geography.

What to Expect

What to Expect When You Call

The first call is a confidential conversation about what’s happening in your family and what your options look like, including cost and whether travel makes sense, before you decide anything.

For families, I’ll ask about the situation, the person, the history, and what has been tried. By the end of the call, you’ll have a clear sense of whether working together is the right fit, and what that would actually look like logistically.

For clinicians, I’ll ask about the patient, the family system, and the clinical context. I’ll tell you honestly whether an intervention is what the situation needs, or whether something else is more appropriate.

If someone you love is in immediate danger, call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency services.

Frequently Asked

Frequently asked questions

Do you have to be physically present in Georgia for the intervention to work?

Not always. I fly out to Georgia when that’s the right call for your family, or I coordinate closely with a trusted local team handling the in-person side while staying involved throughout.

How is a long-distance intervention different from a local one?

The planning is the same. What changes is how the in-person parts get handled, either I travel to you or I coordinate with local support on the ground, while staying involved in every decision.

What happens after the intervention if my loved one agrees to treatment?

I coordinate placement and stay involved through the transition. We continue with recovery mentoring and family support by phone and video after the intervention.

Do you take a fee for referring to a treatment center?

No. I don’t accept referral fees, kickbacks, or compensation from treatment facilities. My fees are paid directly by the families I work with, which protects the independence of my recommendations.

Is an intervention only for addiction?

No. I work with families facing substance use, alcohol concerns, and mental health struggles, among other situations.

Can you help if our family is spread across multiple states?

Yes. Families are often spread across different states. I coordinate everyone into a single plan regardless of where each person is located.
