Interventionist Services in Oregon

Professional intervention services for Oregon families, wherever you’re located.

CONFIDENTIAL

The short answer

I provide intervention services for families throughout Oregon, including Portland, Eugene, Salem, and Gresham. Based in Los Angeles, I’ll travel to Oregon when that’s the right fit, or coordinate closely with a trusted local team if remote support gets your family help faster.

What We Do

What is an interventionist?

Definition

An interventionist is a trained professional who helps a family plan and hold a structured conversation with a loved one who is struggling, and helps map the next step toward support.

For families in Oregon, that means an honest conversation up front about whether I make the trip or work with local support for the in-person parts. Either way, I stay involved through treatment placement and beyond.

Who We Serve

Helping families outside Los Angeles take the first step

I’m based in Los Angeles, though a good number of the families I work with are calling from somewhere else. A family in Oregon gets the same first conversation as a family in my own city: what’s happening, who’s involved, and how your loved one is likely to respond when approached.

From there, I’ll tell you plainly whether it makes sense for me to travel to Oregon or whether coordinating remotely with local support is the faster path. That comes down to your timeline and the specifics of the situation, not a fixed rule.

Confidentiality

Planning with your privacy in mind

Privacy is central to how I work, regardless of distance. I understand that visibility and reputation can weigh on a family’s decision to seek help.

Every conversation with me is confidential, and I plan each step, including travel logistics if that’s the right approach, with your family’s privacy in mind.

The Process

Two approaches, matched to your family

I use the Johnson Model and the Invitational Model. One is more direct, the other invites the person in from the start.

I’ll help you choose the approach most likely to keep the door to help open, wherever your family is located.

Reach

Based in Los Angeles, serving families across Oregon

I’m based in Los Angeles and work with families across Oregon, including Portland, Eugene, Salem, and Gresham.

Lifestyle Interventions is the Los Angeles intervention and recovery advisory practice I founded. I don’t operate a treatment facility, and I don’t take referral fees.

Your family’s situation doesn’t need to fit inside one city for me to help. Wherever everyone actually is, I pull it into a single, coordinated plan, so distance doesn’t add another layer of stress.

Who I Help

Who I help

I work with families facing substance use, alcohol concerns, and mental health struggles, among other situations.

The right approach depends on the person and the family, not on a single template, and not on geography.

What to Expect

What to Expect When You Call

The first call is a confidential conversation about what’s happening in your family and what your options look like, including cost and whether travel makes sense, before you decide anything.

For families, I’ll ask about the situation, the person, the history, and what has been tried. By the end of the call, you’ll have a clear sense of whether working together is the right fit, and what that would actually look like logistically.

For clinicians, I’ll ask about the patient, the family system, and the clinical context. I’ll tell you honestly whether an intervention is what the situation needs, or whether something else is more appropriate.

If someone you love is in immediate danger, call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency services.

Frequently Asked

Frequently asked questions

Do you have to be physically present in Oregon for the intervention to work?

Not always. I travel to Oregon when that’s the right fit for your family, or I coordinate with a trusted local team handling the in-person parts while staying closely involved throughout.

How is a long-distance intervention different from a local one?

The planning is the same. What changes is how the in-person parts get handled, either I travel to you or I coordinate with local support on the ground, while staying involved in every decision.

What happens after the intervention if my loved one agrees to treatment?

I coordinate placement and stay involved through the transition. We continue with recovery mentoring and family support by phone and video after the intervention.

Do you take a fee for referring to a treatment center?

No. I don’t accept referral fees, kickbacks, or compensation from treatment facilities. My fees are paid directly by the families I work with, which protects the independence of my recommendations.

Is an intervention only for addiction?

No. I work with families facing substance use, alcohol concerns, and mental health struggles, among other situations.

Can you help if our family is spread across multiple states?

Yes. Families are often spread across different states. I coordinate everyone into a single plan regardless of where each person is located.
